Look as young as you feel
There’s a spring in your step, a sparkle in your eye, a burst of enthusiasm at the prospect of doing the marathon this year, or biking in Vietnam or whatever. You can stay up through the night and still shine at work all day. That’s you. Youthful you.
Then what’s with those little lines that continue to smile when you’ve stopped? And that furrow on your forehead that lingers? The fact of the matter is, your skin defines your age. So you’d want to listen out very carefully for what it is saying about you.
Now here’s the big paradox of our times. It’s a fact that with all the fitness and lifestyle options available today; many of us are more youthful and dynamic – at any age – than our counterparts a couple of generations ago. The 30s are the new 20s, and 40 feels fabulous. However there’s just one wrinkle here – our skin still behaves the way it has learned to, over countless years of evolution. So it tends to go more by the chronological clock than the rest of our body does. And your skin makes you look older than you deserve to.
What goes on here?
Simple. As the years roll on, your skin starts losing its ability to produce and replace collagen, the substance that provides structural support. With the loss and breakdown of collagen in the dermal layer, your skin loses elasticity and firmness. It gets thinner, and wrinkles begin to set in. This natural process of aging accelerates with the onslaught of stress and environmental damage – especially the scorching sunlight that floods our region. Age spots. With frown lines, bunny lines, crow’s feet and expression lines, the face gets gradually etched over time.
It’s a natural phenomenon… but you don’t have to live with it. You can push back, with a little help from Kaya. For over 10 years now, our team of expert dermatologists have been providing bespoke age control solutions to thousands of women of the region; empowering them to take control of their skin’s age. Defining skin as much art as it is science. The expertise of our dermatologists lies in ensuring just the right touches in the right places, so your youthful appearance is maintained … and so are those little nuances of your natural expressions, in the case of injectables.
Let’s go backstage for an inside look at how our dermatologists create their magic. As you read on, you could almost imagine a sculptor studying a subject.
The first step to rejuvenation is proper facial assessment. The specialist studies facial proportions like forehead height, eyebrow shape, periorbital rhytides (around the eyes), puffiness of eyes, nose shape, lip shape and dimensions, skin texture, skin tone and a host of other factors.
The importance of proportion is time tested. Through the ages, all beautiful sculptures and portraits, including Mona Lisa are in accordance with what’s called the Golden /Divine proportion of 1:1.61. A beautiful face and every detail – lip, nose or eyebrow would also abide by the same proportions.
So, a scientific detailed assessment of facial and body proportion is the first task. The dermatologist would then use technology such as fillers or neurotoxins(Botox®) to sculpt the correct proportions for the face… and turn back the clock, so to say.
Recent medical advances have empowered us to create even more detailed approaches. The holistic Kaya approach also means a careful look at pigmentary changes like Melasma, sun spots, seborrhic keratoses and photo aging which also mark the march of time and whisper things about your age!
So, like the old saying goes, age is just a number. A telephone number, in fact, because all you have to do is call the clinic, book yourself in for a chat with a dermatologist and discover how beautifully easy it is to look as young as you feel.
