Acne can mark much more than just your skin. Our treatments look at a complete solution by eliminating the root cause of the acne and eradicating all those scars.

Unwanted skin conditions are part and parcel of our lives; acne being one of the most common and persistent. Although acne is commonly identified as a teenage problem, it recurs as late-onset acne after the age of 25. In addition to this, many adult women face different forms of acne due to their hormonal changes during perimenopause.

The major difference between teenage and adult acne is in the location where they show up. While teenage spots appear mostly on oily T-zone (forehead, nose, chin, and area circling the mouth), adult-onset acne is usually seen on the cheeks, chin, jawline, and neck of the U-zone. Adult acne is found in fewer spots compared to teenage acne because of its inflammatory property. However, it tends to be harder and takes longer to cure.

What causes Acne?

Our skin’s oil glands produce oils that travel up a canal called a follicle and get released on the skin surface through pores. Since the follicle also contains a hair, it is possible that the hair, oil, and cells that line the narrow follicle create a blockage, preventing the oils from reaching the skin’s surface. The oil and cell mix thus creates an environment for the bacteria on the skin to grow in the blocked follicles. Then, our body’s defence system acts on the bacteria, resulting in getting the skin inflamed.

The inflammation creates a whitehead if the blockage stays beneath the skin or a blackhead if it opens up on the surface of the skin. Both may stay for a long time until the plugged follicle breaks down, leading to pimples or zits.

Another main reason for the cause of pimples is an increase in certain hormones during puberty, resulting in enlargement of the oil glands and production of more oil. Hormone changes related to pregnancy, the premenstrual phase, or stress – especially when internalised – can also cause acne.

What causes Acne Scars?

The healing process to get rid of pimples results in loss or formation of tissues, leaving a pigmented mark on the skin. While the loss of tissue creates mild scars, formation of new, thicker tissue can result in more severe scars.

How Kaya Acne & Acne Scar Solutions work

While treating Acne ( or pimples), understanding an individual’s skin is as important as the techniques and types of acne treatments. With a plethora of knowledge on the functionality of different types of skin, we, at Kaya, have the region’s largest team of dermatologists working on creating specialized approaches customized to every individual’s skin. We combine medication with advanced formulations and technologies to bring about an effective line of acne treatment.

Kaya Acne Solutions aim to address the root causes of acne and deal with the factors that provoke skin into developing acne. Its three main focusses are to:
– reduce excess oil (sebum) production
– exfoliate skin and prevent clogging of pores
– provide anti-inflammatory measures to reduce the severity of acne.

In case of absolute necessity, hormonal medication may be prescribed.

Kaya Acne Scar Repair works on eradicating existing lesions and scars while taking preventive measure to avoid formation of new ones. The scar removal treatments include removal of dead skin cells, pollution deposits, and damaged skins through exfoliation. Post exfoliation, it conducts laser treatment for alteration of the scars to achieve a smooth and flawless skin.

What you can look forward to?

Acne & Acne Scars cannot be cured with a one-session treatment. It needs multiple sessions depending on the seriousness of your acne and the treatment prescribed. You will find a noticeable difference in the condition and texture of your skin as the treatment proceeds. The skin will look cleaner and brighter as the acne lesions and scarring reduce dramatically. Apart from the sessions of treatments, it is equally important to pay attention to aftercare. Since acne is caused by hormonal changes, it needs your commitment to stay on the course without fail and follow a regular maintenance regime.
