Ultima Laser Hair Reduction Solutions

Women on average, spend over 1728 hours of their lifetime dealing with body hair. Save time, effort, pain and expense. Our next-generation laser hair reduction solutions set you free, whatever your hair or skin type.

Much like tonsils and wisdom teeth, body hair tends to be a bit of a bothersome legacy from the evolutionary process. For many women, it becomes a constant struggle to deal with unwanted body hair. Traditional depilatory methods such as shaving,
waxing, halawa or tweezing provide temporary visual relief, but is only a matter of time before hair regrows, making hair removal a frequent and painful chore. In fact, studies show that the average woman will spend about 72 days of her life, and a considerable sum of money, dealing with body hair over and over
again. (And that’s just the legs)
There’s the pain factor too. Although nicks, cuts and bruises can be reduced with care and skill, they are hard to avoid entirely.

Laser hair reduction has grown to be an attractive option in the quest for smooth, beautiful skin. In the right hands, it is a safe and effective procedure for all parts of the body; the upper lip, chin, back, legs, forearm, underarm, and bikini line
being the most popular. Moreover, it saves a great deal of time and expense in the long run.

The mechanism of laser hair removal

Hair grows out of follicles, which are like the bulb of a flower. In laser hair removal solution, a concentrated beam of light is absorbed by the dark pigment (melanin) in hair and turns into heat which travels down to the follicle and neutralises
it. The hair shaft is destroyed and the follicle cannot grow hair again

Now here’s something to take note of. Although laser hair removal technology eliminates hair growth permanently and swiftly, it is not a magic wand that makes all body hair disappear in one go. It takes multiple sessions. Let’s go down to the root
and understand why.

Hair goes through three different stages of growth. The first, or Anagen stage, is the active growth phase. The bulb, or bottom of the follicle, is attached to the dermal papilla which convey nutrients to the hair follicle. The second, or Catagen
stage is a short transitional period in which the hair stops growing and the hair follicle shrinks in size, breaking away from the dermal papilla. The hair follicle begins to die. The last phase of the growth cycle is the Telogen or resting phase in
which the remains of the hair bulb are inactive. The hair is eventually shed, usually through friction.

While hair in different stages coexist at any given time, laser zeroes in on the points of maximum pigmentation: hair which is in the Anagen (growth) stage. This hair also happens to be attached to the bulb of the hair follicle, providing a
continuous pathway for the heat to get to where it should.

However, hair in the Catagen and Telegen phases does not attract the laser beam.

At any point of time, only about 20-40% of body hair is in the Anagen phase. So you would need repeat sessions to eliminate successive rounds of Anagen hair as they crop up. Generally speaking, this would mean 6 to 8 sessions spread out over a period
of 12 months. The exact number of sessions would depend on hair and skin type as well as response to treatment. Sometimes, hormonal changes in the body, led by pregnancy or other reasons, can cause something called a paradoxical effect – where new
hair grows in previously treated areas, calling for additional sessions.

Introducing Kaya Ultima Laser Hair Reduction

Although laser technologies are well established and continue to evolve, effective and pain-free treatment has a lot to do with technology, technique and understanding an
individual’s skin and hair type. (To be precise, the ability to read the response of skin during treatment and tweak the procedure accordingly)

At Kaya, we have gathered a wealth of insight into how skin works. Applying this knowledge, the largest team of our dermatologists in UAE work to create specialised approaches, customised
to every individual’s skin. Do take a closer look at our solutions with the help of the search box below

How Kaya Ultima Laser Hair Reduction solutions work

As a rule, laser hair reduction has generally been perceived to work better on light skins with dark hair, as compared with other combinations. Because they function by targeting pigmentation, lasers can cause discomfort by impacting darker skin,
while lighter hair on lighter skin can be hard for laser to “see” and act upon.

At Kaya we have worked for years to innovate around these limitations and bring the benefits of faster, smoother and painless laser hair reduction to the entire spectrum of customers with various skin and hair types.

At the heart of the Kaya Ultima experience is the expertise of our dermatologist-therapist teams. They work closely with every customer to deliver a customised treatment crafted around the individual’s hair and skin type, using the latest US FDA
approved technologies, systems and devices. So, although all Kaya Ultima solutions are based on three major laser platforms – AlexandriteDiode and Nd: Yag – no two treatments are quite the same.

What you can look forward to

Depending on your skin and hair type, your dermatologist will recommend a specific Kaya Ultima solution. Body hair can be a tricky adversary, coming up at various untreated spots at different times as it follows its own growth cycle. What’s most
important is that you stay the course and go through the required number of sessions so that body hair can be rooted out altogether.  These would depend on skin colour, coarseness of hair, the area of the body being treated, gender and underlying
health conditions. You can rely on your dermatologist to analyse all of these factors before drawing up a treatment plan that best suits your needs.
